This is a one day training for third and fourth year PhD candidates.
It’s NOT a training on conducting research or writing, but on handling the information overload and perfectionism that come with finishing a PhD.
Do you want to:
- finish your PhD fast?
- make the most out of the limited time with your supervisor?
- prepare for the job market?
Then, this is the right training for you! The training covers among others:
- How to make use of your inner critic, instead of having your inner critic using you. You still get to experience all the smartness and energy of you inner critic- but this time in your favor. You learn how to redirect the smartness and energy of your inner critic so that they contribute to a smooth and friction-free finishing of your PhD.
- An easy algorithm on how to process your ideas, improvement suggestions, comments from others and any problems you may have with your PhD. This algorithm makes everything feasible.
- How to divide and conquer your work.
- How to find out what you need to work on next in order to stop wasting your time.
- The two types of comments you should leave in your text, until the PhD is ready to be submitted. Having these two comments in your document actually increase your speed and energy level.
- The one type of comments you NEED to keep SEPARATELY from your working document. If you miss this one, you loose energy and motivation each time you open your dissertation.
- 13 questions to ask yourself in order to clarify any problem related to your PhD.
- How to make sure you make optimal use of your working capacity – when you are very alert as well as when you are very tired as in “just come back from an exhausting meeting”
- Guidelines and templates for user-friendly action items. User-friendly action items support you in being more productive. They are written in a way, that you WANT to work on them. Are your current to do-lists written in the way that you want to work on them?
We begin the day with an introduction to time management in the information age. But above all we spend the day practicing the new system and finishing YOUR PhD.
Technical requirements:
Bring your own laptop in order to work on your PhD. Free Wifi available.
Who am I?
I’m an expert in user-friendly productivity. That’s also the field in which I wrote my PhD. My way of dealing with perfectionism and information overload is easy, user-friendly and above all: it delivers results. My approach is scientifically based among others on the deliberation without attention effect (Dijksterhuis et al., Science, 311 (5763): 1005-1007, 2006), flow theory (Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi) and logistics principles for increasing effectiveness and efficiency.
How much does it cost?
The method that you learn will increase your productivity by 10-20%. Thus, over the course of a year, the training is worth one month salary.
Limited offer: instead of 895 Eur (ex BTW) I offer a price reduction of 400 Eur.
I may change this price in the future, so make use of it while it lasts and …
finish your PhD fast
for just 495 Eur (ex BTW)
